So tomorrow, saturday, we’ll be heading off for the summit push. Two men will stay in basecamp and make it our command central to manage the communication for all. If possible they will post a twitter on my behalf witch will be forwarded tot this blog. At least twice a day, they will post an update on the site of Field Touring Alpine.
Alea iacta est. We’re leaving for a summit attempt on saturday. All teams will work together to make the attempt on 4th as safe as possible.
It is snowing again. We are resting in basecamp at least until friday. If the wheather looks ok then, we will go for the summit.
I have slept in camp 3 last night. The climb up there was hard. Now, all we need is a few days rest and a weather window for a summit push !
I’m going to camp 2 with 5 others tomorrow. It is essential that we manage to sleep at camp 3 this weekend. Ropes have been fixed to 7000 m.
The 3 that went up yesterday had to turn back. 5 others have gone up today and are making good progress. Wind is strong above camp 2.
3 more climbers are going to camp 2. Our expedition leader is staying in camp 2 because of high winds. 5 more climbers will go up tomorrow.
It’s snowing. Our expedition leader has gone to camp 2 and will go higher tomorrow to assess the situation. We’ll follow in the next days.
I’m having another restday. Today 4 climbers that were on broad peak joined us for k2. Our current plan is to set up camp 3 this weekend.
6 have gone up today to fix above camp 2. Tomorrow, me and 4 others will go up to continue fixing and put in camp 3 on sunday. Insjallah.
