Wim from now on on national radio

Wim was – for the fist time – an item yesterday in  ‘Midi Libre’, a daily program (11 am – 1 pm) on the national radiostation ‘Radio 1′. They will follow him through the rest of his expedition and make him an item as often as they can.  If you understand Dutch (or just like hearing people talking in Dutch), go ahead.

The weather is miserable today. All rope fixing has been put on hold until conditionr are better. The entire team is back in basecamp.

I’m taking a rest day. A team of 3 brits and 2 porters have gone up to set up 2 more tents in camp 1. They will also spend the night there.

Today, we started fixing ropes on the cesen route up to 5900. Conditions were perfect and the climbing was great fun. Not too hard so far.

I’ve arrived in basecamp after a 5 hour walk. I have a 3 person tent to myself. We have also set up a kitchen, a mess and a lounge tent.

We have arrived in concordia at 4600 meter. I am sitting outside my tent looking at k2 for the first time. It’s a beauty but it looks tough.
